Alessandro Farnese, Duke of Parma (27 August 1545 – 3 December 1592) was a ruling Duke of Parma and Piacenza from 1586 to 1592, as well as Governor o the Habsburg Netherlands from 1578 till 1592.





Marriage[edit]

Pn on November 11, 1565 he married Infanta Maria of Portugal, a granddaughter of Manuel I of Portugal.

Issue[edit]

  1. Margherita Farnese (7 November 1567 - 13 April 1643) married Vincenzo Gonzaga, Hereditary Prince of Mantua but had no issue.
  2. Ranuccio I Farnese, Duke of Parma (28 March 1569 - 5 March 1622) married Margherita Aldobrandini and had issue.
  3. Odoardo Farnese (7 December 1573 - 21 February 1626) Cardinal.
