Anna d'Este, Princess of Modena (16 November 1531 – 17 May 1607) was an important princess with considerable influence at the court of France and a central figure in the French Wars of Religion. In her first marriage she was Duchess of Aumale, then of Guise, in her second marriage Duchess of Nemours
First marriage[edit]
On 28 September 1548, she married François of Lorraine, 2nd Duke of Guise, son of Claude of Lorraine, 1st Duke of Guise and Antoinette de Bourbon.

- Henri of Lorraine, 3rd Duke of Guise (1550–1588) succeeded him as Duke of Guise.
- Catherine of Lorraine (18 July 1551 – 6 May 1596) married Louis, Duke of Montpensier.

Second marriage[edit]
On 29 April 1566, she married Jacques of Savoy, 2nd Duke of Nemours, son of Philippe of Savoy, 1st Duke of Nemours and Charlotte d'Orléans.
Issue[edit]
- Charles Emmanuel of Savoy, 3rd Duke of Nemours (7 February 1567 – 15 August 1595) never married.
- Henri of Savoy, 4th Duke of Nemours (2 November 1572 – 10 July 1632) married Princess Anne of Lorraine (daughter of Charles of Lorraine, 3rd Duke of Aumale) and had issue.
