Archduke Joseph Karl of Austria (2 March 1833 – 13 June 1905) was a member of the Habsburg-Lorraine. He was the second son of Archduke Joseph, Palatine of Hungaryand a grandson of Leopold II, Holy Roman Emperor.





Marriage[edit]

on 12 May 1864, he married Princess Clotilde of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, daughter of Prince Augustus of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, 5th Prince of Kohary , and Princess Clementine of Orléans.

  1. Archduchess Elisabeth Klementine of Austria (18 March 1865 – 7 January 1866) died unmarried.
  2. Archduchess Maria Dorothea of Austria (14 June 1867 – 6 April 1932) Prince Philippe, Duke of Orléans but had no issue.
  3. Archduchess Margarethe Klementine of Austria (6 July 1870 – 2 May 1955) married Albert, 8th Prince of Thurn and Taxis and had issue.
  4. Archduke László Philipp of Austria (16 July 1875 – 6 September 1895) never married.
  5. Archduchess Elisabeth Henriette of Austria (9 March 1883 – 8 February 1958) died unmarried.
  6. Archduchess Klothilde Maria of Austria (9 May 1884 – 14 December 1903) died unmarried.
