Charles Albert of Sardinia (Carlo Alberto Emanuele Vittorio Maria Clemente Saverio; 2 October 1798 – 28 July 1849) was the King o Sardinia from 27 Aprile 1831 till 23 March 1849. He was the father of King Victor Emmanuel II of Italy.
Marriage[edit]
The court decided that marriage wad provide the prince with internal equilibrium. The chosen bride, accepted by Charles Albert, was the sixteen-year-old daughter of Grand Duke Ferdinando III of Tuscany, Archduchess Maria Theresa of Austria, a descendant of Empress Maria Theresa. Charles Albert travelled to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany an then to Rome on 18 March 1817 and, after a 6-month engagement, married Maria Theresa on 30 September in Florence Cathedral.

- Victor Emmanuel II of Italy (14 March 1820 – 9 January 1878) married Archduchess Adelaide of Austria and had issue.
- Prince Ferdinando, Duke of Genoa (15 November 1822 – 10 February 1855) married Princess Elisabeth of Saxony and had issue.
- Princess Maria Cristina of Savoy (1826–1827) died young.
