Ferdinand III, Grand Duke of Tuscany (Ferdinando Giuseppe Giovanni Baptista; 6 May 1769 – 18 June 1824) was a Grand Duke of Tuscany from 1790 till 1801 an, after a period of disenfranchisement, again from 1814 to 1824.
First marriage[edit]
On 15 August 1790, Ferdinand III married his cousin Princess Luisa of Naples, daughter of King Ferdinando IV o Naples and III of Sicily and Maria Carolina of Austria.
Issue[edit]
- Archduchess Carolina Ferdinanda Teresa of Austria, Princess of Tuscany (1793–1802), died young.
- Archduke Francesco Leopoldo, Grand Prince of Tuscany (1794–1800), died young.
- Leopold II, Grand Duke of Tuscany (1797–1870) married Maria Anna of Saxony and had children. Remarried Princess Maria Antonia of the Two Sicilies and had issue.
- Archduchess Maria Luisa Giuseppa of Austria, Princess of Tuscany (1799–1857), born disabled.
- Archduchess Maria Theresa of Austria, Princess of Tuscany (1801–1855), married Charles Albert, Prince of Carignano and had issue.
- Stillborn son (1802).
Second marriage[edit]
On 6 May 1821 the Grand Duke married Princess Maria Ferdinanda of Saxony, a daughter of Maximilian, Hereditary Prince of Saxony an Princess Carolina of Parma. They had no children.
