English: Prinz Emil von Hessen und bei Rhein (1790–1858). In a General's uniform of the Grand Duchy of Hessen (prior to 1852). The orders and decorations he wears have been identified by the Bayerisches Armeemuseum as follows:
  • Neckbadge 1: Grand Cross of the Order of Wilhelm, Hesse Kassel
  • Neckbadge 2: Commander's Cross of the Order of Ludwig
  • Chest Medals from left to right:
    • 1. Service Cross for Officers of 50 years service (from 1839)
    • 2. Service Medal Hesse-Darmstadt
    • 3. France, Legion of Honour Officer's Breastbadge
  • Cordon = Knight Grand Cross of the Civil Order of Saxony, (Order of Merit); and lower Breastbadge: Order of the Crown of the House of Saxony
  • Lower Breastbadge: Breastbadge of the Order of Ludwig
