The House of Württemberg is a dynasty of the German high nobility that ruled Württemberg, named after them, in southwest Germany as counts, dukes and kings from the 11th century until 1918. The name goes back to the family's ancestral home, Wirtemberg Castle near Stuttgart, and lives on in what is now the German state of Baden-Württemberg.
