Infante Carlos of Spain, Duke of Madrid (Carlos María de los Dolores Juan Isidro José Francisco Quirino Antonio Miguel Gabriel Rafael; 30 March 1848 – 18 July 1909) was the Carlist claimant to the throne of Spain from 1868 (his father's Spanish renunciation), and holder of the Legitimist claim to the throne of France after the death of his father in 1887.


First marriage[edit]

On 4 February 1867, Carlos married Princess Margherita of Parma, daughter of Charles III, Duke of Parma and Princess Louise Marie Thérèse of France.


Issue[edit]

  1. Infanta Blanca of Spain (7 September 1868  – 25 October 1949) married Archduke Leopold Salvator of Austria, Prince of Tuscany and had issue.
  2. Infante Jaime, Duke of Madrid (27 June 1870  – 2 October 1931) never married.
  3. Infanta Elvira of Spain (1871–1929)
  4. Infanta Beatriz of Spain (21 March 1874  – 1 November 1961) married Fabrizio Massimo, Prince of Roviano and had issue.
  5. Infanta Alicia of Spain (June 29, 1876  – January 20, 1975) married Prince Friedrich of Schönburg-Waldenburg.

Second marriage[edit]

On 28 April 1894, he married Berthe de Rohan. They had no issue.
