Johann of Saxony (Johann Nepomuk Maria Joseph Anton Xaver Vincenz Aloys Franz de Paula Stanislaus Bernhard Paul Felix Damasus ; 12 December 1801 – 29 October 1873) was the King of Saxony from 1854 until his death.
Marriage[edit]
21 November 1822 in Dresden, he married Princess Amalie Auguste of Bavaria, daughter of King Maximilian I Joseph of Bavaria (1756-1825) and his second wife Karoline of Baden.
Issue[edit]
- Princess Marie Auguste Friederike of Saxony (1827–1857) died in childhood.
- Albert of Saxony ( 23 April 1828 – 19 June 1902) married Princess Carola of Vasa but had no children.
- Princess Elisabeth of Saxony (4 February 1830 – 14 August 1912) married Prince Ferdinando of Savoy, Duke of Genoa and had children.
- Prince Friedrich August Ernst of Saxony (1831–1847) died in childhood.
- King George of Saxony (8 August 1832 – 15 October 1904) married Infanta Maria Ana of Portugal and had children.
- Princess Maria Sidonia of Saxony (1834–1862), died in childhood.
- Princess Anna Maria of Saxony (4 January 1836 - 10 February 1859) married Ferdinando, Hereditary Grand Duke of Tuscany and had children.
- Princess Margaretha of Saxony ( 24 May 1840 – 15 September 1858) married Archduke Karl Ludwig of Austria but had no children.
- Princess Sophie of Saxony (15 March 1845 – 9 March 1867) married Duke Carl Theodor in Bavaria and had children.
