Louis I of Spain (Luis Felipe; 25 August 1707 – 31 August 1724) was King of Spain for just seven months in 1724, from January till his death by smallpox in August the same year. His father, King Philip V resumed the throne.


Marriage[edit]

On 15 January 1724, the young Prince of Asturias married Louise Élisabeth d'Orléans, a daughter of Philippe, Duke of Orléans, Regent of France (Regent of France for King Louis XV) They had no children. The widowed queen was sent back to France where she died forgotten in Paris in 1742.
