Infante Luis o Spain, Count of Chinchón (Luis Antonio Jaime; 25 July 1727 - 7 August 1785) was the youngest son o King Philip V of Spain and his second consort Elisabeth Farnese. He is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest-ever cardinal and he was named in honour of King Louis XV of France.


Marriage[edit]

In exile, in 1776, Luis contracted a morganatic marriage with María Teresa de Vallabriga, an aristocrat from Aragon. The couple had 3 children, though they had no claim to the throne as their parents unequal marriage was considered null by the king, his brother.

Issue[edit]

  1. Luis María de Borbón y Vallabriga, 14th Count of Chinchón (22 May 1777 – 19 March 1823) later a cardinal and Regent of Spain but never married and had no issue.
  2. María Teresa de Borbón y Vallabriga, 15th Countess of Chinchón 6 March 1779 – 23 November 1828) married Manuel Godoy, Prince of the Peace but had issue.
  3. María Luisa de Borbón y Vallabriga (21 March 1780 – 1 December 1846) married Joaquín José Melgarejo y Saurín, 1st Duke of San Fernando de Quiroga but had no issue.
