Marie Laetitia Bonaparte (Marie Laetitia Eugénie Catherine Adélaïde; 20 November 1866 – 25 October 1926) born into the House of Bonaparte, she married a Prince of the Aosta branch of the House of Savoy in 1888. Her husband was her uncle and was the Duke of Aosta and she was his second wife. Her husband was recognised as King of Spain in November 1870
Marriage[edit]
On 11 September 1888, Marie Laetitia married Prince Amadeo of Savoy, who was styled the Duke of Aosta at the time.They had one son. The marriage was orchestrated in the hope of bolstering the position of the House of Bonaparte in Europe and in the hope of bringing about their restoration to the throne. In Italy she was known as Maria Letizia Bonaparte.
