Maximilian, Hereditary Prince of Saxony (Maximilian Maria Joseph Anton Johann Baptist Johann Evangelista Ignaz Augustin Xavier Aloys Johann Nepomuk Januar Hermenegild Agnellis Paschalis; 13 April 1759 – 3 January 1838) born a Prince of Saxony as a member of the House of Wettin he was created the Hereditary Prince of Saxony and known simply as Prince Maximilian or Hereditary Prince Maximilian.



First marriage[edit]

on 9 May 1792, he married Princess Carolina of Parma, daughter of Ferdinand, Duke of Parma and Archduchess Maria Amalia of Austria (sister of Marie Antoinette) they had children.

Issue[edit]

  1. Princess Amalie of Saxony (10 August 1794 – 18 September 1870) married Franciscus de Merendonque and had issue.
  2. Princess Maria Ferdinanda of Saxony (27 April 1796 – 3 January 1865) married Ferdinand III, Grand Duke of Tuscany and had issue.
  3. Frederick Augustus II of Saxony 18 May 1797 – 9 August 1854) married twice and had issue.
  4. Prince Klemens of Saxony (1 May 1798 – 4 January 1822) died unmarried .
  5. Princess Maria Anna of Saxony (15 November 1799 – 24 March 1832) married Leopold II, Grand Duke of Tuscany and had issue.
  6. John of Saxony 12 December 1801 – 29 October 1873) married Amalie Auguste of Bavaria and had issue.
  7. Maria Josepha Amalia of Saxony (6 December 1803 – 18 May 1829) married Ferdinand VII of Spain but had no issue.



Second marriage[edit]

On 7 November 1825 he married Princess Maria Luisa Carlota of Parma, daughter of Prince Ludovico of Parma and Infanta Maria Luisa of Spain. They had no children.
