Prince Louis Charles Riprand Victor Jérôme Marie Napoléon (born 7 December 2022) is the heir to the headship of the House of Bonaparte, the Imperial House of France, which was deposed in 1870 and is the last royal dynasty to have ruled France.

Royal heritage[edit]

Prince Louis was born in Paris the child of Jean-Christophe, Prince Napoléon and his wife Countess Countess Olympia von und zu Arco-Zinneberg.[1] Through his father he is the great-great-great-great-grand-nephew of Emperor Napoléon I via his descent in the direct male line from the emperor's brother Jérôme Bonaparte, King of Westphalia. He is also a a descendant of King Louis XIV of France and King Louis Philippe I of the French through his father.

Through his mother Prince Louis is a descendant of the last emperor of Austria, Charles I, the last king of Bavaria, Ludwig III and Emperor Pedro I of Brazil.

Prince Louis was baptised on 15 May 2023 at St Michael's Abbey, Farnborough in the United Kingdom with his mothers first cousin, Princess Maria Laura of Belgium, as his godmother. St Michael's Abbey is the resting place of Emperor Napoléon III, his wife Empress Eugénie and their son Louis Napoléon, Prince Imperial of France.[2]

As a member of the House of Bonaparte, Prince Louis holds the style His Imperial Highness and the title Prince français (French prince).[3]
