Princess Émilie of Hesse-Kassel
Princess Émilie of Hesse-Kassel (11 February 1626 - 15 February 1693) was a member of the Kassel branch of the House of Hesse who was the Duchess of Thouars by marriage. She was a sister of Landgravine Charlotte of Hesse-Kassel who was the Electress Palatine and mother of Elisabeth Charlotte of the Palatinate who was also at the French royal court of Louis XIV as wife of Philippe of France, Duke of Orléans. In German her name was "Emilie". She was a daughter of Wilhelm V, Landgrave of Hesse-Kassel.

Marriage edit
On 15 May 1648, she married Henri Charles de La Trémoille, 4th Duke of Thouars of the House of La Trémoille one of the most respected families of French nobility. In 1685 after the Edict of Fontainebleau, Émilie decided to return to Germany even though she converted to Catholicism. She died from Chickenpox

- Charlotte Amélie de La Trémoille (3 January 1652 – 21 January 1732) married Anton Count of Aldenburg.
- Charles Belgique Hollande de La Trémoille, 5th Duke of Thouars (May 1655 – 1 June 1709) married Madeleine de Créquy and had issue.
- Frédéric Guillaume de La Trémoille (1658 – 1738) Prince of Talmont, Count of Taillebourg and Benon married Élisabeth de Bullion.
- Henriette Céleste de La Trémoille (born 18 July 1662) died in infancy.
- Marie Sylvie de La Trémoille (18 July 1662 – 1692) never married.
