Princess Alice of Battenberg (Victoria Alice Elizabeth Julia Marie; 25 February 1885 – 5 December 1969) was the mother of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, mother-in-law of Queen Elizabeth II, and paternal grandmother of King Charles III. After marrying Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark in 1903, she adopted the style of her husband, becoming Princess Andrew of Greece and Denmark.
Marriage[edit]
On 6 October 1903, she married Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark the fourth son of King George I of Greece and Olga Constantinovna of Russia.
Issue[edit]
- Princess Margarita of Greece and Denmark 18 April 1905 – 24 April 1981) married Gottfried, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg and had issue.
- Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark (30 May 1906 – 16 October 1969) married Berthold, Margrave of Baden and had issue.
- Princess Cecilie of Greece and Denmark (22 June 1911 – 16 November 1937) married Georg Donatus, Hereditary Grand Duke of Hesse and had issue.
- Princess Sophie of Greece and Denmark (26 June 1914 – 24 November 2001) married (1) Prince Christoph of Hesse and had issue, remarried Prince George William of Hanover and had issue.
