Princess Elisabeth of Saxony (Maria Elisabeth Maximiliana Ludovika Amalie Franziska Sophia Leopoldine Anna Baptista Xaveria Nepomucena; 4 February 1830 – 14 August 1912) was a Princess of Saxony who married the second son of the King of Sardinia and the mother of Queen Margherita of Italy.

Marriage[edit]

On 22 April 1850, Princess Elisabeth married Prince Ferdinando of Savoy, Duke of Genoa in Dresden. He was a son of King Charles Albert of Sardinia and his wife Maria Theresa of Austria, his brother was the future Victor Emmanuel II of Italy.

Children[edit]

  1. Princess Margherita of Savoy 20 November 1851 - 4 January 1926); married Umberto I of Italy and had children.
  2. Prince Tommaso of Savoy, Duke of Genoa ( 6 February 1854 – 15 April 1931) married Princess Isabella of Bavaria and had children.
