Princess Marie of Orléans (Marie Amélie Françoise Hélène; 13 January 1865 – 4 December 1909) was a French princess by birth and a Danish princess by marriage to Prince Valdemar.


Marriage[edit]

On 20 October 1885, she married Prince Valdemar of Denmark, the youngest son of King Christian IX of Denmark.


Issue[edit]

  1. Prince Aage of Denmark (10 June 1887 – 19 February 1940) married Mathilde Calvi and had issue. Created Count of Rosenborg having renounced his royal titles.
  2. Prince Axel of Denmark (12 August 1888 – 14 July 1964) married Princess Margaretha of Sweden and had issue.
  3. Prince Erik, Count of Denmark (8 November 1890 – 10 September 1950) married Lois Frances Booth and had issue. Created Count of Rosenborg having renounced royal titles.
  4. Prince Viggo of Denmark (25 December 1893 – 4 January 1970) married Eleanor Margaret Green and had issue. Created Count of Rosenborg having renounced royal titles.
  5. Princess Margaret of Denmark (17 September 1895 – 18 September 1992) married Prince René of Bourbon-Parma and had issue.
